Lectors

The Lector has the important and privileged responsibility of proclaiming God’s Word at Mass.  Any parishioner who possesses the ability to read clearly can become and is encouraged to become a Lector.  The tour of duty for a Lector is three years and each Lector is scheduled to read two weeks every two to two and a half months.  Duties include pre-Mass preparation which involves reading aloud assigned readings for that week to assure proper pronunciation and an intelligent presentation of God’s Word.  If you are interested in lectoring, call Kathleen Kichline at 425-743-2929 ext. 13 or kathleenk@stmp.org

Ushers

Ushers help at the Saturday night and Sunday Masses.  Ushers serve at one particular Mass on alternating months.  The Ushers direct the congregation forward for Communion and take up the collection as well as welcoming and parishioners and visitors at the doors of the church and distributing bulletins after the Mass.  We are always in need of Ushers.  If you would like to volunteer in this ministry, call Kathleen Kichline at 425-743-2929 ext. 13 or 3-mail kathleenk@stmp.org

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Serving at the altar of God is a most sacred way of participating in Mass.  Eucharistic Ministers function as servant to the body of Christ, God’s people.  The primary focus of their ministry is to serve our parish with fidelity, reverence, and love.  At St. Thomas More, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve for three years actively on the altar, then take off one year.  They are then eligible again to serve or act as a substitute.  Scheduling is one month on and one month off.  If you are interested in serving the people of God in this way, contact Kathleen Kichline at 425-743-2929 ext. 13 or e-mail kathleenk@stmp.org

Altar Servers

Service at Mass is a very special privilege open to all parish children, grade 5 and above.  Altar Servers assist the Celebrant at Masses, funerals, weddings and special occasions.  Eligible  servers are rewarded with a picnic in the spring.  Sign-ups and training are in the Fall.  Servers are scheduled with three servers at each Mass throughout the year.  Altar Service helps to involve our parish young people more directly in the Liturgy.  Watch the bulletin for instructions to sign up.

Adult Choir

Open to adults of all ages who enjoy singing.  The choir sings at the 9:30 am Mass on Sunday and at special Masses throughout the year.  All levels of skill are represented in our choir and we welcome new members.  For more information call the parish office at 425-743-2929.
