PARISH SCHOOL UPDATE

Dear St. Thomas More School Families

After conducting an extensive search, we are pleased to inform you that we have selected Mrs. Kathleen Daspit to be the new principal of St. Thomas More School. Mrs. Daspit is an experienced educator who has spent the last three years as a principal in the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Mrs. Daspit is excited to join the STMS community and is committed to ensuring that all students learn to their maximum potential and is committed to fostering innovation through collaboration with teachers, staff, students, and families. She has a heart for students, passion for education, thirst for knowledge, creativity for taking on challenges, collaborative leadership style, and desire to empower others to become lifelong learners.

Mrs. Daspit is eager to embrace the unique knowledge, talents, and experiences found in each member of the St. Thomas More family. It is her goal to ensure all individuals feel welcome, safe, and supported.  Mrs. Daspit looks forward to working with the parish to provide inclusive engagement for all students through academics, faith, and celebration.

Mrs. Daspit will be partnering with Mrs. Lechleiter over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition.

With Gratitude,
The Principal Search Committee

This year we are asking for donations to support our school. To keep all of us healthy and safe, we will not be holding our annual Gala Auction.

Please take a moment to be a part of igniting hope in our community by funding the dream of a student.

Please consider donating to our Igniting Hope and Dreams Campaign.

School Scrip News for You!

Who is on your gift-giving list?  The teen? The gamer? A fashionista?  Target (2.5%), Best Buy (4%), Old Navy (14%) & other retailers have started their Black Friday and Holiday sales.  Purchasing Scrip gift cards in advance for your holiday shopping is the perfect way to contribute to the school without spending extra money. Remember, many local charities and shelters will take donations of gift cards too!

Double D Meats in Mountlake Terrace is taking orders for Thanksgiving Turkeys now! (425-778-7363). When using a Double D Meats gift card purchased through scrip, 20% of your purchase will go to the school. Turkey + Donation is a Win!Win! They offer curbside pickup – just tell them you are paying with a gift card. QFC/Fred Meyer and Sprouts cards are also available.

We have Amazon scrip (2.25%) as well that can be used on smile.amazon.com for double the giving.

Bring your order to the school office by Thursday at 3:00 and your order will be available for pick up the following Thursday after 8:30 am. Order forms are available on our website at: stms.org under the Fundraising tab.

Not good at preplanning? Many of our cards are also available immediately, as E-scrip, on the shopwithscrip.com/RaiseRight app.  It is easy to sign up with our school code: F2DLEAAB9L96. Please send an email to stmpsscrip@gmail.com after signing up so that we can activate you as being from STM.

It is possible to use Scrip Gift Cards for Pick up at Fred Meyer! (Unfortunately, I just confirmed we cannot for Safeway.) When placing your orders, you do have to enter a credit card. Then when you drive up for curbside pick up at Fred Meyer, and they ask if you have any coupons, you can let them know you want to pay with gift cards. They can do it at the curbside, or may have to take it inside. You won't get a new receipt, but they will get processed. Also, the Scrip cards won't work if you are purchasing another gift card in your order. It will need to be paid separately.  Thank you for supporting the school!
